And Atlast it Happened

 The first initiative of Concept one in providing some basic amenities for the Orphanage children's` education proved to be a successful one thanks to the combined efforts of Team Rotaract and Mr. Anand Kumar and his friends in making this event as much successful as it can get. The Orphanage that we went to, named Stazzling Stones, located at Kundrathur, is doing at its very best of its abilities in providing education to Orphanage Children and also the children who was left stranded due to the parents` extreme poverty. Team Rotaract, of Madras Institute of Technology, came to know about this and organized a visit to the orphanage taking along with it, the things that the Orphanage administrators requested. Along with Team Rotaract, Mr. Anand Kumar and his friends contributed their part by providing stationary Items such as sketch pens and Pencils which the Children found really useful. Added to this we repainted the black board of their study rooms and celebrated the birthday of five students from our college who in turn took care of the foodies of all the students of the entire day by providing Cakes and fruits. At the very end it was extremely happy for us to see all the smiling faces waving us good bye with utmost satisfaction which is what we all aimed at and we got it. So... How are we going to implement it?

Well.. There are a number of ideas through which you can do this. But you would not be able to get a good response at the beginning itself since it is something new. We will do the same thing which happens at every place.. that is.. collect money, spending some time, and then providing them what ever they need.. And along with that, we will explain about this to them. First of all we need to start an account in some bank. The members of this group can deposit some money out of their pocket.. say a 100 rupees a month. And at the end of every month, with the money we have got, we can group ourselves and go to any orphanage and spend the entire day with them. But simultaneously, we have to go to companies, explain to them about this concept in such a way that instead of donating money to the orphanages, they will recruit those physically challenged members and provide jobs and salary to them. But before that, we have to make a clear list of the jobs that can be performed by a physically challenged person. Not all jobs can be done by them. So we have to short list a few jobs. Jobs that can be done by them and at the same time it must be challenging too. By doing all these, I am sure we would be able to get them a new life. Wat say?

What is Concept-Une all about?

Well! I would like to call everyone out there who have this thinking that they should do something to the poor and needy, but they have never done it, just because of the only reason that they actually do not know how to do it. Some may think that they can buy loads of things for them by spending their money, while there are some who`ll think that they can educate them by teaching them what ever they have learned. All in all, only one factor plays the major role in this and it is TIME. If you can spend your precious time, definitely you can create the change that you wanted to do in their lives.

So, lets go for the main part here. Why did I choose the name as concept one? Well, actually its kinda related to the scenario that is happening all around us, everyday. A man/woman who is a blind by birth struggles to walk in a busy road. So at that time, what a common, kind hearted man does is that he`ll just hold their arm and then he`ll guide them to their destination. This is a normal thing that is happening. But if you analyze that situation pretty deeply, you`ll understand that the man who helped the blind to reach his/her destination, did it just because he wanted to help him out, which is inturn a positive thing from his side. But on the contrary, of you see the one who`s blind, you`ll notice that it would have created a negative impact on him. So in addition to his physical disability, he`ll become mentally disabled. He`ll begin to have a mental feeling that he really would not be able to cross anything unless some person helps him out, which is a really deep negative thing from his side.

In the above scenario, the blind could be assisted in an entirely different manner such that the people who has vision can clear out from his path and make it free and easier for him to reach his destination all by himself. This inturn raises his confidence as well as boosts his will power.

The above example can easily explain the vision of Concept-Une. Its all about a gentle push instead of a Lift. Instead of providing food, shelter, clothing to the needy people(which creates a feeling in them that they really have to depend on someone else throughout their life), We can provide them jobs. Jobs that they can do with the talent they have. Jobs through which they can earn themselves and stand on their Power. Jobs that will make them self sufficient. Jobs which will make them get their food, shelter, clothing all by themselves. Instead of seeing a blind as a person who does not have eyes, why can`t we just see him as a person who has Arms, legs, etc,. It does not matter what you don`t have. All it matters is what ever you can do with that you possess. And we are going to get it for them.

Concept-Une focuses on the theme of 'One'. It all matters just one percent of what ever you can do. Something like.. One job, spending One day a week or One hour a day, One percent of your salary, One love, etc,.

Its a simple program through which will try our level best to assure jobs to the Physically challenged people. Lets get them some life guys. What do you say?
